Hello there! Plenty to talk about in this blog, mainly the new single and a few other things I’m sure you’re all dying to hear about, okay maybe not dying, but you’re here reading so I’ll assume you’re at least slightly curious!
The new single “Drift Away” was announced the other day and I’m pretty excited for you to hear it. Whilst I posted the title, artwork and the fact it’s going to be released on the 5th October, I didn’t reveal much else so I thought this would be a good opportunity to tell you a bit more. Compared to “Time Will Tell” and “Home”, it’s very stripped back and unlike the previous singles, it was produced by myself at home. Recording at home meant that I could spend a lot longer working and re-working it until I landed on something I was completely happy with. It took quite a while but I feel it was worth it, and I feel it’s the best of what I’ve done so far. There might be a release gig in the works too but more on that later!
As far as being a musician full time now, I’d love to tell you that it’s been nothing but touring and seeing the world but I’m afraid that’d be lying! At the moment I’m just playing, practicing and writing every day which is a lot of fun and I’m starting to wonder why I didn’t do this sooner.
What else was I going to say, oh yeah, gigs! The past few weeks have been filled with some amazing gigs but if there’s if there’s one that deserves a special mention it’s Fidelity Freak’s EP Launch. No one can explain it but every now and again everything seems to pull into place to make for a perfect gig and that’s what happened on Saturday. I opened up the night, then FINNO took to the stage and played a blinding set. Then I think everyone who was there will agree with me that Fidelity Freak came on and put on an incredible show, probably one of the best I’ve seen. If you haven’t listened to their EP yet, please do so.
Anyway I think that’s it for now! Hopefully I’ll see you around at some point and keep watching Facebook for more news about the single and how I’ll be celebrating it.
Luke.
